Mimi Worthington,
Vice-Chair Corresponding Secretary

For thirty years, Mimi was a secondary mathematics teacher in the Council Rock School District in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. While raising her family, she was always active in school and community organizations. While teaching she was an advisor for her high school’s Rotary Interact Club which organized and ran community service projects each year. Since retiring she has served on various community committees, on the Board of her Homeowner’s Association, and as editor of her community’s newsletter.  She has also worked as a volunteer teaching math to adults working to obtain their GED.

Mimi and her husband Mark have been traveling to San Marcos La Laguna almost yearly since 2007.  She became involved with Konojel in 2014, when she and Mark engaged Andrew Raphael as their Spanish tutor. Andrew was one of the co-founders of Konojel, and he asked Mimi if she would be interested in volunteering in their after-school enrichment program and helping to develop some math activities. Once she volunteered at Konojel, she was totally hooked. After that her trips to Guatemala were spent working with the children in the Enrichment Program, bringing down supplies, developing games and activities, and advising the teachers on the implementation of these activities.  Each year she and Mark became more involved as volunteers, donors, and supporters of the Konojel nutrition and education programs, as well as the Konojel Restaurant. In 2017, they took the primary responsibility for the All Together Foundation as directors and officers dedicated to supporting the Konojel Community Center.
