Mark Worthington,
Vice-Chair & Treasurer

Now semi-retired, Mark has had a full career as a policy analyst for the federal government, vice president of a public-sector consulting firm, and for 35 years, president and owner of Worthington Associates, a construction management company that specialized in commercial and institutional buildings, including more than 100 churches. He is also a director of Penn Community Bank, the largest community bank in Bucks County and the second largest mutual bank in Pennsylvania.

Despite his successes in these businesses, Mark has received the most satisfaction in his life from community service. He has served on the boards, both as director and officer, of several Bucks County (PA) non-profits, including United Way of Bucks County and the Bucks County Opportunity Council.

For the last 12 years or so, Mark and his wife Mimi have visited San Marcos for several weeks each year to visit college friend Carlos Freed, who, until we moved into our own building, contributed space in his restaurant Blind Lemon’s to the Konojel Community Computer Center.

After meeting Andrew Raphael as a Spanish tutor almost ten years ago, Mimi became a devoted volunteer, and Mark, a major contributor to this amazing organization. In February 2017, the former directors of the foundation turned over the honor and responsibility of governing the foundation to Mark and Mimi. Mark was Board Chair for the years 2017 and 2018.  Mark looks forward to helping to improve the lives of the indigenous children and adults of San Marcos for many years to come.
